At the outset, in times of pandemic with changing teaching – learning environment, I am privileged to lead NEHRU MEMORIAL COLLEGE (Estd. 1976) sponsored by the Academy of Liberal Education (R.) Sullia, with utmost agility and modesty. Our institute outstands in its eminence in the forethought of our legendary founder president DR. KURUNJI VENKATARAMANA GOWDA, whose dynamism enabled leadership has paved a path for vividly reaching out for the first-ever co-educational system of higher education among rural masses of Sullia.

Nehru Memorial College offers under graduate course in Arts, Commerce, Science, Social Work, Business Administration and Post Graduation in Social Work (MSW) and Commerce (M.COM). Nehru Memorial College permanently affiliated to Mangalore University and recognized by the UGC under sec 2(f) and 12 (B) of UGC Act 1956. Nehru Memorial College and Accredited 3^rd Cycle by the NAAC in the Year 2018 with ‘B+’ Grade under new methodology of NAAC assessment. It continues to maintain its academic standards through the Internal Quality Assurance Cell established in the College.

Amidst all resiliency and flexibility, as we meet the challenges and opportunities of an online learning environment, I am very fortunate to work with such dedicated, caring staff members who consistently follow current trends and adopt the best action through vivid brainstorming sessions to incorporate the trends into our classrooms. It always gives me a great pleasure to see the smiling faces of students.

Further, we need to think out of the box and think beyond a pattern. Towards this our curriculum and laboratory practical’s coupled with our vivid collection of library books are consistently reviewed to ensure that we are following the most updated best practices, meeting all regulations, and addressing the future needs of our students.

The system of education has become so dynamic that it is no longer enough to connect the dots. We need to be vigilant as the holistic growth of each student is our focus. We leave no stone unturned as we offer opportunities to explore their interests and investigate new ideas. We offer many clubs, activities, sports and a large variety of musical ventures that our students can participate in. Many of our students are involved in a variety of extracurricular activities that allow them the opportunity to grow at their own pace in a safe, nurturing environment. Our list of clubs, activities and other extracurricular offerings are broadened each year with the hope to have something that interests every student. The students are encouraged to take part in all the internal and external events and are given enough guidance and practice before being exposed to the competitions. Thus once graduated our students would be a responsible, resilient and confident young adults, well equipped with the skills, mindsets and qualities that will best enable them to take charge of their future as well as to become productive members of the community.

In the end, I extend my sincere thanks to Management, Teaching Faculty, Non-Teaching Staff, P.T.A., Alumni and to the Students for their everlasting support and encouragement collaboratively enabling us to transcend our institute to a new realm. I am supremely humbled and intensely encouraged till eternity and nothing so far has equaled the excitement, reward and exhilaration as at Nehru Memorial College.
