About Sullia

Sullia (also known as Sulya) is a taluk in the Dakshina Kannada district of the state of KarnatakaIndia. Sullia town is situated 86 km (53 mi) southeast of Mangalore city on NH-275.

A historical revolution took place during 1837 when a majority of the  Tuluvas, Gowdas, Kodavas, Kudiyas, Adidravidas, and other castes from Amara Sullia, Madikeri, and Bhagamandala went and fought for freedom against British.[2][3][4][5][6] CITY TOURISM Sullia is one of the pilgrimage places. The area covered by the TP is 4233-37 acres 6.61 Sq.Km. The total population of Sullia town is 18,028. It has 18 wards Kukke Subrahmanya is a famous Hindu temple located in the small, rural village of Subrahmanya in the Sullia Taluk of Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka. The main tourist spots are Sri Chenna Keshava Temple and Sri Kayarthodi Temple.
