Mangalore University Inter Collegiate Kabaddi Tournament
MUIC Kabaddi Tournament was conducted at Nehru Memorial College, Sullia, from 25th to 27th March 2026. The event was organized as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the college, marking a significant milestone in its history.

International Women’s Day
Nehru Memorial College, Sullia in association with KVG group of institutions organized International Women’s Day Celebration on 4 th March, 2026 on account of Golden Jubilee celebration of the institution. All women staffs are trained in Zumba dance and performed Zumba show at NMC quadrangle. There was an interactive session with esteemed guests, Smt. Ashwini Varanasi, an organic agriculturist and entrepreneur and Smt. Sumithra Manmohan, Toastmaster trainer, Bengaluru.
The food fest was organized to encourage women for self-motivation and entrepreneurship.
Many food stalls are stationed by the women staff to sell food.

Nehru Memorial College Sullia and Alumni Association of NMC in association with Kannada Development Authority, Vidhanasoudha, Bengaluru jointly organized one day
seminar on “Gadinadu Sullia Parisarada Bhasha Parampare” (The Linguistic Heritage of the Sullia Border Region) on 25 th February, 2026 on account of Golden Jubilee Celebration of the Institution.

National Level Sullia Half Marathon
“MILES FOR MENTAL FITNESS”
As part of the Golden Jubilee Year Celebration, Nehru Memorial College, Sullia, in association with KVG group of institutions of Academy of Liberal Education (R), Sullia, successfully organized the National Level 21 Km Race – Sullia Half Marathon 2026 MILES FOR MENTAL FITNESS on 24th January 2026 at KVG Ground, Sullia, commenced at 5:30 AM.
The event commenced with a formal inauguration ceremony at KVG Ground, Sullia. The dignitaries, chief guests, and organizers addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of sports, fitness, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle.

The event witnessed vibrant participation and energetic support from the staff of KVG group of institutions, volunteers, NCC cadets, students, and the general public.
A total prize money of ₹5.5 Lakhs was distributed among winners across various categories. Special awards were presented to the top three finishers in the Masters category, along with trophies and certificates.
Kumari Bhagirathi Murulya, MLA of Sullia graced the occasion and took part
in the valedictory session.
The event stood as a remarkable milestone in the Golden Jubilee celebrations, reflecting the institution’s strong commitment to sports development, youth empowerment, promoting fitness and holistic education

Founder’s Day & Golden Jubilee Inauguration
On December 26, 2025, Nehru Memorial College (NMC), Sullia, marked a historic milestone by celebrating Founder’s Day alongside the grand Inauguration of the Golden Jubilee Year. The event served as a tribute to the visionary founder Late. Dr. Kurunji Venktramana Gowda.
The programme was graced by the divine presence of Shri Shri Dr. Dharmapalanatha Swamiji, Shri Adhichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Shakha Mutt Mangalore.
The president of the Programme was Dr. K.V. Chidananda, President, AOLE ® Sullia.
Chief Guest: Dr. Manthar Gowda, Hon. MLA of Madikeri, officially inaugurated the Golden Jubilee celebrations by releasing the logo and brochure.
