International Yoga Day

International Yoga Day was celebrated in Nehru Memorial College, Sullia on 21-06-2023 unser the banner of Internal Quality Assurance Cell. Mrs. Usha K, a Yoga trainer of Art of Living was the resource person. The principal of the college Mr. Rudrakumar M M presided over the programme. Ms. Rathnavathi D, Student welfare Officer was present in this programme. IQAC Coordinator Mrs. Mamatha K welcomed the guests and Mrs. Bhavya P M, Head Dept. of Engliash proposed the vote of thanks. The Teachers and Students participated in the programme.

Annual Day Celebration

The Annual Day of the College was celebrated on 9th June 2023 at KVG Shastyabda Rangamandira. Ar. Akshay K C, the General Secretary of Academy of Liberal Education ® Sullia presided over the function. Mr. Ln. M B Sadashiva, former Governor of Lions Club and President of M B Foundation Sullia was the Chief Guest of the Programme. Mr. Rudrakumar M M, the Principal of the college presented the annual report of the activities of the academic year 2022-23. The guests of honors ameliorated this programme by their presence are Prof. Balachandra Gowda, Academic advisor of NMC, Smt. Rathvathi D, Student Welfare office of NMC, Mr. Chandra Kolchar, the president of Alumni Association, Mr. Chinnappa Gowda K, President of PTA.

The rank holders of the University examination of 2021-22 in MSW, M.Com and B.Sc courses are honoured with the K V G Gold Medal by the president of the function. In congruence with that the toppers of the classes are apprised with proficiency and endowment prizes. Even the best performers in NCC, NSS, Rovers & Rangers, Youth Red Cross Wing and Sports are honoured at this occasion. The office bearers of student council were present at the function and duly rendered their responsibly of organizing this grand programme with the support and guidance by the faculty. After the formal function there was the cultural programme by the students.

Prize Distribution Day

College day beforehand on 8th June, 2023 the prize distribution day was celebrated. Mr. Hemanath K V, the Secretary of Academy of Liberal Education ® Sullia was the chief guest of the programme. Mr. Shubash Naik, the Branch Manager Karnataka Bank Ltd. NMC Ext branch was the guest of honour. Mr. Rudrakumar M M, the Principal of NMC presided over the function. College Student Welfare officer Mrs. Rathnavathi D and IQAC Coordinator Mrs. Mamatha K and office bearers of student council along with cultural and sports secretaries were present in the programme. The prizes for the competitions held by the Cultural, Literary, Sports and many other associations were distributed in this function.

Training Programme on Writing IAS/IPS in Kannada

The IQAC and Career Guidance and Placement Cell of the college in collaboration with Kannada Sahithya Parishath, Sullia Taluk jointly organized Training Programme on Writing IAS/IPS in Kannada for students on 14th April, 2023. Mr. Rudra Kumar M M, Principal, NMC presided over the programme. Prof. Balachandra Gowda M was the guest of honour. Mr. Umesh Nayak and Mr. Darshan Darthikere of ‘Yashash’, Vivekananda IAS/IPS Coaching Center, Puttur were the resource persons of the programme. Mrs. Rathnavathi D, Student Welfare Officer, Dr. Vijayalakshmi N S, Coordinator Career and Placement Cell, were present in the programme. Mrs. Mamatha K, coordinator of IQAC proposed the vote of thanks.

Awareness Programme on Drug Addiction

The Student Welfare Council and IQAC of the college, organized Awareness Programme on Drug Addiction for the students on 6th April 2023 at college auditorium. Dr. Poonam Prof. and HOD Dept. of Psychiatry, KVG Medical College & Hospital, Sullia and Mr. Shrihari Kukkudelu, Advocate and Notary were the resourse persons. They gave talk on the Effects of Drug Addiction on Mental Health and Legal Awareness With Regard To Drug Addiction, respectively. Mr. Rudrakumar M M presided over the function. Prof. Balachandra Gowda M, Academic Advisor NMC Sullia was the Chief Guest of the function. Student Welfare officer Mrs. Rathnavathi D delivered the introductory speech and Mrs. Mamatha K, Coordinator of IQAC was present in the programme.

Republic Day Celebration

Republic Day was celebrated at College on 26-1-2023. Dr. K V Chidananda, President, Academy of Liberal Education ® (AOLE) Sullia hoisted the flag. Mrs. Shobha Chidananda, Vice president of AOLE, The Principal of NMC Mr. Rudrakumar M M, Student Welfare Officer Mrs. Rathnavathi D, IQAC Coordinator Mrs. Mamatha K, College Academic Advisor, Prof. Balachandra Gowda B, Teaching and non-teaching faculty, NCC, NSS, Rovers & Ranger and YRC wing students were attended.

National Voter’s Day Celebration

National Voter’s Day was celebrated on January 25th  in the college auditorium under the joint auspices of the Electoral Literacy Club, Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Dept. of Political Science of Nehru Memorial College. The program was presided over by Mrs. Rathnavathi D, the Student Welfare Officer. Smt. Mamatha K. the convener of the Electoral Literacy Club gave a lecture about the significance of National Voter’s Day and conducted the oath ceremony.

The teaching and non-teaching faculty of the college, as well as the students, took the oath. The students of the college staged a skit on “Awareness on Casting Vote” and displayed placards with slogans on National Voter’s Day. A quiz program was organized for the students and prizes were distributed to the winners. BA students, Gana, Lathashree, Lavanya and Varshini gave information about electoral reforms. Student representatives Kishan and Deeksha of Final year B. A. were present on the stage. Smt. Geetha N., Lecturer in Political Science, welcomed the gathering.  Kumari Rakshita of the Third year B.A. proposed the vote of thanks.  Lecturers Mrs. Bhavya, Mrs. Anantha Lakshmi, Mr. Hariprasad, Mr. Vishnuprasanth and Physical Director Lt. Seetharama M D contributed to the programme.  Ms. Vaishali conducted the quiz event. Ms. Chaitanya mastered the ceremony.

Awareness Programme on NEP 2020 By IQAC for PUC students

Internal Quality Assurance Cell Organized an awareness programme on National Education Policy-2020 for Students of Nehru Memorial PU College sullia on 20-12-2022. Prof. Rudrakumar M M, Principal of NMC gave a special lecture on “NEP 2020 and Higher Education”. There was a discussion with students over NEP. Student Welfare Officer, Mrs. Rathnavathi D, NEP Coordinator, Mr. Thippeswamy D H, IQAC Coordinator Mrs. Mamatha K and Student Welfare Officer of NMPUC Mrs. Savithri K were present in this programme. Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff of NMPUC were also present in this programme.

Student Welfare Officer, Mrs. Rathnavathi D, NEP Coordinator, Mr. Thippeswamy D H, IQAC Coordinator Mrs. Mamatha K and Principal of Rotary PU College, Mrs. Shobha A were present in this programme. Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff of Rotary PU College Sullia were also present in this programme.

Inauguration of Student Union and Talent’s Day Celebration

The inauguration of the Student Union and Talent’s Day Celebration was held on 13th December 2022. Mr. K R Gangadhara, the national awardee teacher and Rtd. Principal of Nehru Memorial Pre University college Aranthodu, Sullia was the chief guest of the day. In his speech, he said “In the modern times of the 21st century, we are seeing the youth living in real poverty without realizing it. So there is a necessity to be very careful with the pollution of society. A life of good character and commitment is essential to building a decent society. Honesty should become a trademark of a person. Success in this competitive life can only be achieved through hard work, enthusiasm and commitment. Failure is a lesson in life, learn to accept it and live with it. Education makes our life beautiful. Youth should develop human values, live as self-respected and develop the qualities of helping each other.

President of the Academy of Liberal Education® Sullia, Dr. K.V. Chidananda presided over the programme. Mrs. Rathnavathi D., Student Welfare Officer of the college, administered the oath to the office bearers of the student union. K.T. Vishwanath, General Secretary of the Old Students Association, distributed the scholarships to meritorious first-year degree students.

Later, the Secretary of the Academy of Liberal Education, K. V. Hemanath inaugurated the Talent day program by beating the drums.  College Principal Rudrakumar M M, Parent-Teacher Association President Mr. Shivaprasad, College Internal Quality Assurance Cell Coordinator Mrs. Mamatha K., and Student Union office bearers were present on the stage. Kumari Anagha and Kumari Ratna Sinchana sang the prayer song. College Student Union President Rajath Kumar welcomed the guests of the program, Vice President Ms. Chaitanya K. introduced the chief guests, Secretary Anvith M.C. Ms. Gana B D and Ms. Shanya compered the program. College teaching and non-teaching staff assisted.

Constitutional Day 2022

The constitutional day was celebrated on 26 November 2022 on the college premises, as part of the initiation by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Department of Political Science. Faculty and students were apprised of the formation of the constitution by Mrs. Mamatha K, IQAC Coordinator and Head, Dept of Political Science. There was the oath-taking ceremony on the preamble of the constitution by faculty and students. Students held the placards with ideals of the preamble in the programme.

Puppet Show

A Puppet Show was organized in the college by the Student Welfare Committee and IQAC of Nehru Memorial College, Sullia on 14-11-2022. The ‘Shree Rajaram Togalu Gombe Kala Sangha’ of Hassan conducted a Puppet Show. Under the program of creating awareness of various projects of the Prime Minister, this group organized a Puppet Show across the state as a project organized by the government’s Department of Information and Public relations. Under the leadership of the head of the art team Mr. Gunduraj, a five-member of art team performed puppetry, a form of shadow puppetry, through their amazing skill and verbal tact. Mrs. Rathnavathi D, the student welfare officer of the college handed over the memento to the art team on behalf of the institution. College Kannada lecturer Dr. Anuradha Kurunji compered the program. All the teaching and non-teaching staff and students of the college were present in the program.

Orientation Programme – 2022-23

The orientation programme for the students of 2022-23 batch was held on 1-9-2022 at the college auditorium. Mr. Hemanath K V, joint secretary of Academy of Liberal Education presided over the function. Prof. Balachandra Gowda, academic advisor of NMC was the chief guest of the function. Mr. Rudrakumar M M, principal of NMC welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Rathnavathi D, student welfare officer has done an introductory speech. Mr. Sanjeeva K, the head Dept. of Kannada proposed the vote of thanks and compered the programme.
