II MSW STUDY TOUR 2022
As part of the Curriculum & to complete the MSW Study tour perspective, IInd MSW Students pursuing Social work in their P.G Programme were taken to Mysore from April 10th to 16 April 2022 under the supervision of Mr. Abdul Rasheed K.M. & Bindu K.S. It was indeed a very fruitful exposure where the students were given an opportunity to learn through their common & specialization visits.
The main aim of the study tour is to aid students to acquire basic knowledge of the functioning of the organization. Study tours emphasise experiential learning and offer both group and self-directed activities that enable learners to explore various industries & hospitals’ cultures, practices & people.

ORIENTATION VISIT BY I MSW STUDENTS
Introducing social work concepts, core skills, and contemporary practice methods to MSW students the P.G Department of social work organised two days orientation visit for Ist year MSW Students. Students have visited various voluntary organisations & care centres in Mangalore as well as the outskirts of Mangalore on 8th & 9th February 2022.
Orientation visits to various social welfare institutions provide the budding professionals in social work an opportunity to observe discover & deepen their awareness by understanding the nature, structure and functions of various voluntary organizations. It gives them an outline, understanding to carry on their fieldwork practicum in due course as well as facilities them to develop professional skills.
Students had visited Dharma Jyothi Social service centre vamanjoor, Snehasadan care centre Kaikamba, Ave Maria Palliative care Vamanjoor, KVG Medical college sullia, during their visit schedule. Teaching staff of the department guided the students and accompanied bind them in materializing the vision.

Ruby Ahliwalia Founder, introduced SLBC. Miss Arpitha S hosted the webinar from NMC sullia. All the students and faculties of NMC & other colleges, research scholars also were participated in this webinar. The platform of the webinar: Zoom.
On 15th March 2021 Department of PG studies in social work organized a Workshop on “Atmanirbhar Bharath”, Mrs. Kripa A.N Lecturer in the Department of Social work, NMC, Sullia is invited as a resource person for the program. The program coordinator of MSW Mr. Abdul Rasheed K.M presided over the program.

On 30 January 2021, the Department of PG studies in Social Work Nehru Memorial College Sullia has celebrated the international day of Girl child and organized a guest talk on “Child Protection- in the context of Healthcare”. Miss Krithi Bhat, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine KVG Medical College Sullia invited as a Resource Person. HOD and faculty of the department, Students of MSW and MCOM have participated in this program.

On 10-10-2020, A guest Talk Programme was conducted on “NGO Management”, and the resource person was Mr. Prasanna Kumar, Assistant Professor, MSW Department, GFGC, Vittal.

The “Suicide Prevention Day” programme was conducted on 14/09/2019.

One Day Training Programme on “Job Application and C.V Writing” organized by MSW Department, on 30/08/2019 at 2.00 pm. The resource person was Mrs. Bhavya., HOD, Department of English, NMC.
PROGRAMME ON IMPORTANCE OF HUMAN VALUES IN SOCIAL WORK PRACTICUM
The programme “Importance of Human Values in Social Work Practicum”, was held on 17/08/2019.
Resource persons of the programme were, Dr. Ummar Bijadakatte, Exclusive Vice-President-HR Training and Administration, Pharmed Limited, Bengaluru. And Mr. Vikram Sagar Saxena, General Manager-L&D, Pharmed Limited, Bengaluru.
