ನೆಹರು ಮೆಮೋರಿಯಲ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಸುಳ್ಯ ಸಮಾಜ ಕಾರ್ಯ ವಿಭಾಗ, ಗ್ರಾಮ ಪಂಚಾಯತ್ ಅರಂತೋಡು ಹಾಗೂ ಸರಕಾರಿ ಉನ್ನತಿಕರಿಸಿದ ಹಿರಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಾಲೆ ಅರಂತೋಡು ಇದರ ಜಂಟಿ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ “ಸ್ವಾವಲಂಬನೆಡೆಗೆ ಒಂದು ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ”ಎಂಬ ಶೀರ್ಷಿಕೆಯಡಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲ್ಕು ದಿನದ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ತರಬೇತಿ ಶಿಬಿರವು ಸರಕಾರಿ ಉನ್ನತೀಕರಿಸಿದ ಹಿರಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಾಲೆ ಅರಂತೋಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.

ಈ ಸಮಾರಂಭದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ಬಿಕೆ ಮುಖ್ಯೋಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯರು ಸರಕಾರಿ ಉನ್ನತೀಕರಿಸಿದ ಹಿರಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಾಲೆ, ಅರಂತೋಡು ವಹಿಸಿ, ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿ ಆಫ್ ಲಿಬರಲ್ ಎಜುಕೇಶನ್(ರಿ) ಸುಳ್ಯ ಇದರ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಡಾಕ್ಟರ್ ಕೆವಿ ಚಿದಾನಂದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ದೀಪ ಬೆಳಗಿಸುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿ, ಶಿಬಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ಮೂರು ತರಬೇತಿ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿ ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆಧುನಿಕತೆ, ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ, ಜ್ಞಾನ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವುಗಳ ಸದುಪಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಶಿಬಿರಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಶುಭ ಹಾರೈಸಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಪ್ರೊಫೆಸರ್ ಬಾಲಚಂದ್ರ ಗೌಡ ಎಂ,ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರರು ಎನ್ಎಂಸಿ ಸುಳ್ಯ, ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಗಂಗಾಧರ್ ಕೆಆರ್ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರು ನೆಹರು ಮೆಮೋರಿಯಲ್ ಪದವಿಪೂರ್ವ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಅರಂತೋಡು, ಪ್ರೊಫೆಸರ್ ರುದ್ರ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಎಂ ಎಂ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರು ನೆಹರು ಮೆಮೋರಿಯಲ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಸುಳ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಮತಾ ಕೆ ಸಂಯೋಜಕರು ಆಂತರಿಕ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ ಖಾತರಿಕೋಶ ಎನ್ ಎಂ ಸಿ ಸುಳ್ಯ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಶುಭ ಹಾರೈಸಿದರು. ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಕೃಪಾ ಎ ಎನ್ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು ಸಮಾಜಕಾರ್ಯ ವಿಭಾಗ ಏನ್ ಎಂ ಸಿ ಸುಳ್ಯ ಪ್ರಾಸ್ತವಿಕ ಮಾತುಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಗಣ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಸಮಾಜ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಸಂಘದ ಸಂಯೋಜಕೀಯಾಗಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಶೋಭಾ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ವಂದಿಸಿದರು.

ಕೃತಿ ಕೆಎಚ್ ತೃತೀಯ ಬಿ ಎಸ್ ಡಬ್ಲ್ಯೂ ಹಾಗೂ ಜ್ಯೋತಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಬಿ ಎಸ್ ಡಬ್ಲ್ಯೂ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.

ಈ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ತರಬೇತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟು110 ಶಿಬಿರಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ನೋಂದಾವಣಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಹಾಗೂ ನುರಿತ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಿಂದ ತರಬೇತಿಗಳು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ತರಬೇತಿಯ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವನ್ನು ಶಿಬಿರಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮಾಜಕಾರ್ಯ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಎಲ್ಲ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

The Guest lecture was organized on 16/11/2022 by the Department of Social Work on the Topic ” Career Scope in Social Work by Mr. Shivaprarsad, Chief H R Manger, KVGMCH Sullia.All the students of Social Work get Benefited from this session.

Department of Social Work in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry, KVG Medical College Sullia organized Programme on ‘Mental Health Awareness’ for World Mental Health Day at the college Auditorium. Prof. Balachandra Gowda M, Academic Advisor, NMC- Sullia, Presided over the programme. Dr.Poonam, Prof.&HOD and Dr.Krithishree Asst.Prof. Department of Psychiatry, KVG Medical College Sullia were Key speakers. An Awareness skit was performed by the students of BSW. Nearly 200 students were get benefited from this programme.

The SWETS fest 2K23 was organized by the Department of Social Work on 10/01/23 at College Auditorium.The programme presided over by Prof.Rudrakumar MM, Principal of the College.Prof.Balachandra M Academic Advisor of the college was present on the stage as chief Guest. In this connection, various competitions was also organized for social work students and distributed Prizes to the winners.

The Department of social work (UG)organized an Educational visit to SWASTHA Rehabilitation centre Suntikoppa. Which is working for retarded children (specially Challenged-Mental Retarded, Down Syndrome, Speech and Hearing Impaired, and Visually Handicapped). The organization was run by Tata Coffee Trust. Mrs. Arathi Somaiah, Director of the institution.

Totally 24 Students got benefited from this visit along with the faculty in-charge Mrs. Kripa A. N. HOD, Department of social work and Mrs.Shobha A. Assistant professor.

The Department of social work (UG)organized an Educational visit to Coorg Organization for Rural Development (CORD) at kushalanagara dated 2/11/2022. Mr. Roy David, Director of CORD gave information regarding the entire activities of the organization.

Totally 24 Students got benefited from this visit along with the faculty in-charge Mrs. Kripa A. N. HOD, Department of social work and Mrs.Shobha A. Assistant professor.

ಸುಳ್ಯದ ನೆಹರೂ ಮೆಮೋರಿಯಲ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಸಮಾಜಕಾರ್ಯ ವಿಭಾಗ, ಆಂತರಿಕ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ ಖಾತರಿ ಕೋಶ ಹಾಗೂ ಹಿರಿಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಸಂಘದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಕಟ್ಟಡ ಮತ್ತು ಇತರೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮಂಡಳಿ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಭಾರತ ಸರಕಾರದ ಮಾನ್ಯತೆ ಪಡೆದ ಊಐಐ ಐiಜಿe ಅಚಿಡಿe ಐಣಜ. ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಇದರ ನುರಿತ ತಜ್ಞರ ಸಹಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಟ್ಟಡ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರಿಗೆ, ಇತರೇ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವಲಂಬಿತರಿಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಾದ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಉಚಿತ ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ತಪಾಸಣಾ ಶಿಬಿರವನ್ನು ನೆಹರೂ ಮೆಮೋರಿಯಲ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ದಿನಾಂಕ 25.05.2022 ರಿಂದ 27.05.22 ರವರೆಗೆ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಶಿಬಿರವನ್ನು ಮೇ. 25 ರಂದು ಡಾ. ಆಕಾಂಕ್ಷ ದೀಪ ಬೆಳಗಿಸಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಪ್ರೊ. ರುದ್ರಕುಮಾರ್ ಎಂ ಎಂ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಊಐಐ ಐiಜಿe ಅಚಿಡಿe ಐಣಜ. ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಯೋಜಕ ಸುಬ್ರಮಣಿ, ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಪ್ರೊ. ಎಂ. ಬಾಲಚಂದ್ರ ಗೌಡ, ಹಿರಿಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಸಂಘದ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಕೆ . ಟಿ ವಿಶ್ವನಾಥ, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಕ್ಷೇಮಪಾಲನಾ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ರತ್ನಾವತಿ ಡಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಐಕ್ಯೂಎಸಿ ಸಂಯೋಜಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಮಮತಾ ಕೆ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿ, ಸಮಾಜಕಾರ್ಯ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥೆ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಮಧುರ ಎಂ. ಆರ್. ವಂದಿಸಿದರು. ಅಂತಿಮ ಸಮಾಜಕಾರ್ಯ ವಿಭಾಗದ ರಚನಾ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿ, ಅರ್ಪಣಾ ಮತ್ತು ಮೌನವಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು. ಶಿಬಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ಫಲಾನುಭವಿಗಳಿಗೆ 19 ಬಗೆಯ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳನ್ನು ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು ಮತ್ತು ಸುಮಾರು 500 ಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜನರು ಶಿಬಿರದ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡರು.

Department of Social Work has organized study tour of two days to Vivekananda Girijana Kalyan Kendra, Biligirirangana Hill Chamarajanagar. During the visit, Mr. Suresh co-ordinator of Karuna Trust gave information on the origin of the organization and community development projects undertaken by the VGKK for the upliftment of the Soliga community. The work pattern of the organization, tribal development projects like educational institutions, Hostels, Processing units of forest products and community health centers were observed. Visited the residences of the Soliga community and interacted with them about their lifestyle. The team of 37 B.S.W students has actively participated under the guidance of lecturers.

BSW Students organized a planting programme under the slogan of “ONE TREE FOR A CHILD AND ONE GARDEN TO THE SCHOOL” On 28/01/2022. Mr Chandru forester provided the plants to the programme and sensitize the participants regarding the importance of afforestation. Students of the school took the responsibility of protecting the plants for their Future.

BSW Students are organized community awareness programme on cleanses in collaboration with Deparatment of Panchyath Raj and Rural development, Zilla Panchyath,Taluk Panchyath -Suliia and Grama Panchyath Ajjawara on 27/01/22.Distributed BARO Bag to the villagers and made them awarness about waste management system.
