At the outset, as I humbly complete four enriching years as the Principal of Nehru Memorial College (Estd. 1976), I reflect with pride and gratitude on the journey that has been both dynamic and transformative. Sponsored by the Academy of Liberal Education (R.), Sullia, our institution continues to stand tall in academic excellence and social outreach—carrying forward the visionary ideals of our revered founder president, Dr. Kurunji Venkataramana Gowda sir. His far-sighted leadership pioneered the first-ever co-educational system of higher education for the rural masses in Sullia, which remains a cornerstone of our mission.

As we approach the Golden Jubilee Year in 2026, marking 50 glorious years of dedicated service to education, it is a moment of reflection, celebration, and renewed commitment toward shaping generations of learners and leaders.

Nehru Memorial College offers a wide spectrum of undergraduate programs in Arts, Commerce (General and Business Data Analytics), Science, Computer Applications (General and AI & ML), and Business Administration. The college is permanently affiliated to Mangalore University and is recognized under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956. In 2023, we proudly achieved B++ Grade in the 4th Cycle of NAAC Accreditation, with a CGPA of 2.92, a testament to our continuous commitment to quality education through the effective functioning of our Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).

Navigating through the challenges of the pandemic and the paradigm shift in the teaching-learning environment, I have had the privilege of working with a team of dedicated, innovative, and compassionate staff. Their agility in embracing change, engaging in constructive brainstorming, and adapting best practices into the classroom has been the true strength of our institution.

Our commitment to holistic development remains steadfast. We constantly revamp our curriculum, laboratory practices, and library resources to align with the evolving global educational standards. We aim to equip our students with not just academic knowledge but also critical life skills that prepare them for the uncertainties and possibilities of the future.

Education today demands more than the ability to “connect the dots.” It calls for creativity, critical thinking, and character-building. At Nehru Memorial College, we foster a vibrant environment that promotes exploration and self-growth. Through a broad array of clubs, cultural events, sports, and extracurricular programs, students are encouraged to find their passions and grow in a nurturing and safe environment.
