Kannada Sangha organized inaugural function of activities of the kannada sanga for the Academic year 2019-20 and special talk on contemporary challenges of kannda language on 21st Aug 2019. Welknown writer and social worker Himakara A.K, Presented resourceful talk on priscribed subject. Dr.poovappa Kaniyoor presided the programme. Kannada sanga has conducted one month trining programme, based on Yaksha gana Art performance.for the selected students and after the training programme they performed Veera Babruvana prasanga on the occasion of our college day. Well knownYaksha performer Smt.Sarojini Banari has directed whole concept and Dr.poovappa Kaniyoor ,director , kannada Sanga as Art director for the stage performance on the occasion.

Kannada Sanga has organizsed two day’s workshop onWikipedia jointly with Kannada and tulu Wikipedia Karavali for student on 9th,10th Febry2019. The programme inaugurated by Dr. K.Giridhara Gowda,Principal, Nehru Memorial college, Sullia. Gopal Krisha, community edvacate, Kannada Wikipedia center for internet society.,Bangaluru and Ashoka K,G,Director,Wikipedia association, Alva’s college ,Moodabidire ,participated as resource persons.The programme was conducted under the direction of the Lokesh Kunchdka and Dr. poovappa Gowda H.O.D of kannada and director of kannada sanga.students are actively participated in this successful programme

Kannada sanga of our college organized ‘youth & patriostism’ on account of soldiers day in 20th January 2018. The programme was in collaboration with Rover and Ranger wing of the college. Col. N. Sharat Bhandary ex- service man participated as resource person. Dr. Giridhara Gowda presided the programme. Dr. Poovappa Gowda and Prof. Javara Gowda, were on dias.

Kannada Sanga organized chethan Ram Memorial Lecturing programme on 10 Feb 2018. The programme was in collaboration with Sullia Taluk Journalists Association (R.). Well known journalist Shri. Sudhakar thingalady talked on Modern Journalism and values. Harish Bantwal delivered introducing speech. Dr. Shivananda, Dr. Giridhara Gowda, Dr. Poovappa Gowda, Radhkirshna Bellur and Paddambail Venkatramana were on dias.

Departments of Languages of our college celebrates Mathribhasha Diwas on 18th March 2018. Dr. Giridhara Gowda Presided the program. Dr. Poovappa Gowda, HOD of Kannada, Dr. Shakira Jaben B. HOD of English were on dias and delived the talks on various local languages.

Kannada Sangha of our college organized a literary programme in Sept. 2013. Renowned linguist and writer Prof. Kodi Kushalappa Gowda talked on the importance of Study of literature. Dr. Prabhakara Shishila scholar, thinker and principal, presided over the function. Dr. Yashoda Ramachandra, Prf. L. Sumangala HOD of Kannada were the chief guest.

A Critical talk based on literary works of K.P. Poornachandra Tejashwi, was delivered by Dr.Narendra Rai Derla, Associate Prof. Dr|| K.Shivarama Karantha Govt first Grade College, Bellare in sept. 2013. Dr. Rai is a keen lerner and writer about nature like Tejashwi. The topic was on the novel Mayaloka by Tejashwi being the prescribed text for degree students of Mangalore University. Dr.Prabhakar Shishila presided the function .

Kumaravyasa-Anusandhana, a unique seminar was held on 17 Jan 2015. The programme was in Collaboration with Sahithya Kala Vedike Sullia, Reflective papers on different aspects of ‘Karnata Bharatha katha Manjari’ of Kumaravyasa were presented by on his like Y.S.V.Datha, Lakshmisha Tolpady, Venkatramana Bhat, Chandrashekhar Kedilaya, Dr. Kabbinale Vasanth Bharadwaj. Subraya Chokkadi and Dr.H.S.Venkatesh Moorthy presided the inagural and closing function respectively. Finally Gamaka (Kavyavachana) was the special event of the day.

1837 freedom fighters memorial committee and our Kannada Sangha. Arranged a programme in the memory of local freedom fighter kedambady Rame Gowda in April 2016. Vidyadhara Baddadka advocate and Family member of freedom fighter, who highlighted the contribution & courage of freedom fighter Kedambadi Rama Gowda on 5th 1837. Against British rulling. A Book ‘Toponomy’ was designed, after the project work of optional Kannada Student . That was released in April 2016 by Prof.Sumangala , ‘Toponomy’ was Published under the guidance of Dr.Poovappa Kaniyoor , Prof.Sanjeeva.k director of Kannada Sangha , reviewed the ‘Book’ on the occasion.

The inagural Function of kannada sangha was held on 10 Aug 2016 at the audio visual room of the college. Noted poet Sri Kutyala Nagappa Gowda (kirana) inaugurated and wished the function . Our Kannada Sangha arranged ‘Masti-kavya Darshan’ on 28 Aug 2016, Which was a joint programme with Akhila Bharathiya Sahitya Parishath, Vasavi Sahitya Kalavedike , Dr|Veena presented paper on ‘Masti-literature’. Our optional Kannada Student took a project on plant-folk , Folk life and local Rituals on the basis, a book was released in April 2017. by Dr.Shakeera Jabeen, H.O.D of English, Dr.poovppa kaniyoor edited and guided the student for preparing the Book.
