On 6/4/2017 Department of sociology of Nehru Memorial college sullia conducted UGC Sponsord one day community orientation programme at Government Primary School Aranthondu in collaboration with MSW . 30 Sociology Students And Dr. Shakira Jabeen Student Welfare Officer ,Smt Usha Head of Department of Mathamatics Chithralekha k s Head of Department of sociology Vishnuprashanth Head of Department of Economics were attended programme.in community orientation we organized the talk on t Health Awareness for primary school students, teachers and publics.
The Resource person of the programme was Smt. Meena kumari K Lecturer Department of MSW,meenakumari addressed the students to make them aware their health. This programme is focused towards the issues of personal health care, vaccination, hygiene and illeness prevention. The main theme of her speech was the commitment to health for all. She spoke about effect of environmental pollution on health for example breathing polluted air puts you at a higher risk for asthma and respiratory diseases. Burning of fossil fuels and release of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere are causing to earth become warmer. Make use of waste materials – the reuse of paper and plastic waste to reduce the amount of pollution. It is essentially to control the environmental pollution to get healthy atmosphere.
This programme created good impact on students they learnt How to use waste materials and Why to control environmental pollution ,How pollution effect health, and our smaller habbits become dangerous to health . Dr. Shakira Jabeen student welfare officer presided over the function and gave valuable suggestion about health issues.
